Only a few weeks after Thuiswinkel.org (Home Shop organisation) introduced its new hallmark, Thuiswinkel Zakelijk (Home Shop Business), the PACOMBI GROUP is the first packaging and disposables supplier to be awarded certification. In recent years this international wholesaler has invested substantially in the optimisation of its subsidiaries, including Paardekooper Verpakkingen. The Paardekooper webshop is best compared with a Bol.com, but in this case for business users.

“The hallmark gives our clients the assurance of maximum user-convenience, a very clear offering and full, transparent (process) information”, says Rian Faaij, E-Business Manager for the PACOMBI GROUP. “As one of the first wholesalers within the business-to-business (B2B) market we provide extensive online information about aspects such as stocks and delivery times. Certainly within our branch we are pioneers in this field. We are also proud to be the first packaging company awarded the Certificaat Thuiswinkel Zakelijk.”

The certification offers business buyers eight assurances including a clear offering, an uncomplicated ordering process, unambiguous prices and a safe payment environment. In this instance the priority is ensuring business can be conducted safely and reliably. “The border between B2C andB2B within e-commerce is blurring”, continues Rian. “Business clients expect the same user-convenience offered by consumer webshops.”

The client leads

Another important trend, says Rian Faaij, is that clients want to lead the buying process themselves: “It’s the client, not us, who decides what, when and how he buys”, he explains. “Clients want to keep a constant grip on the processes related to orientation, ordering and delivery. The availability of product details, insight into stocks and delivery speed and flexibility are key factors in this. All this also demands extremely clear communication.

“Our response to this trend has included extending the opening times of our customer service and for online support via the chat function. Since a short while ago we have also offered ‘ordered before 17.00 hrs, dispatched the same day’. And this is just the beginning. During the coming months (and years) we will continue to work on optimising our digital service provision.”
